  2. Know your deadlines

    • Ask the carrier to reconsider6 months from the denial
    • Ask OPM to review90 days from the final denial

    1. Ask the carrier to reconsider

      Write to the carrier within 6 months of the denial.

    2. Ask OPM to review

      If the carrier keeps the denial, ask OPM within 90 days of that letter. Your plan brochure (Section 8) has the address.
